i) GI Bill:
Helicopter Services, Inc. is approved to provide flight training under Part 141 for eligible veterans who served in the United States armed forces between 1977 and the present. You will need to plan to pay for your Private Pilot or Private Pilot Add-On course yourself. The VA will not reimburse students for the cost of these courses. We are currently approved to provide training to veterans for the commercial pilot helicopter course and commercial pilot helicopter additional rating course. The 60% assistance does not cover books, materials, or test fees. Veterans must pursue a course of training recognized as being necessary to achieve a vocation in the aviation industry. If you believe you may be eligible for educational assistance under this program, you should contact the Veterans Administration Office at (800) 827-1000. If you are still on active duty, you may wish to contact your Base Education Officer. If it is determined that you are eligible for benefits under this program, the VA will issue a certificate of eligibility stating both your eligibility and monetary entitlement. At the end of each month, a Monthly Certification of Flight Training form is prepared and submitted to the VA for payment. The payment of eligible benefits is made directly to the veteran, not to the school. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the veteran to pay for all flight training as received.
ii) Vocational Rehab (Military):
Chapter 31-Vocational Rehabilitation: The Vocational Rehabilitation program is for "service-disabled" veterans who require further education to attain suitable, stable employment. This program may provide vocational and other training services and assistance including tutorial assistance, tuition, books, fees, supplies, handling charges, licensing fees and equipment and other training materials necessary. To qualify you must have a service-connected disability rated at least 20 percent with an employment handicap or rated 10 percent with a serious employment handicap. Must be discharged from military service under "other than dishonorable conditions."
If you are unsure if you are entitled to benefits, you should check with a counselor by calling toll free at 1-888-442-4551. Further information is available online at www.gibill.va.gov.
iii) Utah Valley State College:
| Utah Valley University (UVU) is an accredited university degree program, which allows student pilots the flexibility of flying at their local flight school for their courses online. Students that are part of the UVU Global Aviation Degree Program will have the same access to student services as students attending classes at the Utah campus. Because the online aviation degree program is regionally accredited, student pilots have access to federal financial aid. Student Grants, Federal Assistance, Low-Interest College Loans and Financing available for UVSC students. Aviation loans help offset a student's flight costs and may be applied for at any time. Private long-term lenders help our students receive everything they need to finance their flight training experience.
